Partly. The main creases of the hand (heart, head, life) form in utero between the 12th and 16th week and partly depend on genetics, as shown by similarities in twins. However, these lines then evolve under the effect of life, stress, and manual habits.

What is transmitted

The position and general shape of the three major creases are strongly inherited. Identical twins often have very similar palms.

Predispositions to certain traits (simian crease, head line attached or detached) sometimes run in families.

What isn't

Secondary lines, fate, sun, marriage, small branches, are built through living.

They depend on repeated gestures, accumulated stress, emotions, and vary between siblings genetically close.

The twin study

Identical twins share the general structure but always differ in detail. These differences appear early and increase with distinct life trajectories.

This confirms that the palm is half inherited, half built.

Why it's interesting

Your palm keeps the trace of what your family gave you at the start, and the trace of what you made of it.

Comparing your hand to a parent's is one of the most revealing readings you can do.
