The V on the hand is less known than the M, but just as telling. It often marks a tipping point, a moment when your life took (or will take) an unexpected direction.

Rarity: Present in about 15% of palms, more visible with age.

Where it most often appears

The V typically forms at the end of the head line, when it divides into two branches. It can also appear at the end of the life line, indicating a life extending in several directions.

Another version: the V traced by two minor lines on the mount of Mercury (under the little finger), associated with negotiation talents.

What it says

A clean V signals an ability to hold two worlds at once, for example a rational job and a creative life, or very distinct public and private lives. People with a marked V aren't easy to categorize.

When the V appears recently (and wasn't there a few years ago), it signals a change in progress. Hand lines move more than we think.

Useful variations to read

Symmetrical and deep V: balance between the two directions.

V with one branch more marked: the dominant direction is clear, but the other still attracts you.

V blurred by islands or chain links: inner tension between the two paths.

The V is not a warning, it's an invitation to recognize that you are plural, and that's a strength.
